PURPOSE

To work with outdoor-focused organizations helping them to create and spread their message.

I believe in the healing power of nature and its ability to strengthen our bonds with the environment and each other. I have been fortunate to spend my professional life in the pursuit of the stories of wild places and the people that cherish them.

I am passionate about helping organizations celebrate the outdoors through the power of words.

About me…

I was born in beautiful Vancouver, Canada, and was then unceremoniously transplanted to the storied Canadian prairie capital of Winnipeg. There I spent my childhood co-authoring comic books with my big brother and producing slasher movies—most notably Nature Trail to Hell—with the neighbourhood kids. My first foray into the working world was as a fry girl at a well-known fastfood chain, then grocery bagger and also a photographer for a used car publication. After devoting my teen years to sport, I studied journalism and international relations in Calgary. I then moved on to freelance work at major daily newspapers and co-founded the mountain culture magazine, Highline, in an idyllic town in the Canadian Rockies I still call home.

I am currently looking for freelancing gigs and writing the Beautifully Human series. I’m also the managing editor at Mountain Life Rocky Mountains mountainlifemedia.ca.
